Panama Qualified Investment Visa

To qualify, the applicant must make a qualifying investment in Panama and hold it for 5 years, provide proof of the source of the investment funds, be 18 or over, have a clean criminal record, and hold a certificate of good health. Applicants are ineligible if they give false information on the application, suffer from a contagious disease or serious health problems as confirmed by a medical practitioner, pose a national security risk to Panama or any other country, or have entered or stayed illegally in Panama or any other country.

Dependents include the main applicant's spouse, unmarried dependent children up to 18, and unmarried dependent children between 18 and 25 who attend an education center regularly and depend economically on the main applicant. A relative with a disability who is economically dependent on the main applicant can also be included.

Once approved, the holder can travel freely to Panama without having to fully settle there. Keeping permanent residence status does not require establishing domicile in Panama, only traveling to Panama at least once every two years to maintain the visa.

There is no need to reside in Panama during the application process. Once the application is approved, the applicant visits the Immigration Department in Panama to have their photo and fingerprints taken before the permanent residence card is issued.
